Telling stories, one edit at a time.

The decision to apply to colleges is one of the biggest that we each can make. When your application is placed in front of an admissions officer, the one thing that really sets you apart is your essay. In just a few hundred words, you have to tell your story in a compelling and comprehensive way. Adnoto can help you do that.

The Adnoto process.

  • It all begins with an idea. You have to think back on your life and what you want to focus on. Adnoto is here to help you brainstorm and land on a topic that will help you stand out. I will help challenge you to dig deeper and articulate the story that deserves to be told.

  • No matter what stage your essay is in - from the first draft, to a nearly finished copy - it can always use another set of eyes. I will walk through your essay with you, line by line, to make sure that each word is worthwhile. As we progress in the editing process, I will continue to give feedback on each draft to help make it its best.

  • Once we are confident in the state of the essay, we will give it one last run through with a fine-tooth comb. This way, we will catch any errors that may have slipped through the cracks, and have the chance to celebrate the story that you’ve told.

hI, I’M ALLIA.

I am a Master’s Candidate at the VCU Brandcenter. I love to write, edit, and tell stories.

I remember when I was in high school, stressing about applying to colleges, and writing essays upon essays. I wasn’t sure where to start, or how to put my story into words. Nearly 20 acceptance letters later, I decided to attend Michigan State University. I had long been a Spartan, and I knew that the MSU community would support my dreams. As a student in undergrad, I decided to become a Tour Guide. Not only did this give me the chance to connect with future students, and share my love for MSU with them, but it also allowed me to get to know admissions officers well. Through this position, I learned a great deal about what admissions officers look for in essays. I understand the value of essays in college applications, and have experience working with students to help make their essays the best they could be.

Additionally, I have an extensive background in writing and editing. I graduated from the MSU Honor’s College with two Bachelor’s degrees - the first in Marketing from the Eli Broad College of Business, and the second in Journalism. I have held a variety of positions that required extensive writing and editing experience, including an internship with Pure Michigan, a role as Editor-in-Chief, and a freelance writing/research assistantship for ARTnews. I have always volunteered to edit the work of my friends and classmates, and have worked diligently to refine my skills. But, most importantly, the thing that matters to me most is seeing people accomplish their dreams. I always find ways to get involved in encouraging the aspirations of those around me, and Adnoto is the next step in this journey.
